LinkPoint Fraud Protection - LinkShield
If fraud rates hold steady, fraud losses for all payment transactions
around the globe could account for$30 billion by 2005, according to
Meridien Research. Fraud prevention services such as LinkShieldTM could
help turn the tide. The LinkShield service gives merchants fraud-risk
ratings that measure the likelihood of fraud for each transaction right
at the point of sale, allowing merchants the opportunity to prevent
fraud before it happens. Because each fraud protection tool has its own
strengths, LinkShield combines the industry's top fraud-protection tools
to provide an exceedingly comprehensive fraud protection service.

average of the two scores is provided.)
Option 1
Powered by Fair Isaac® Falcon® risk management software, Option 1
provides two basic components: a neural network and profiles that
capture consumer purchasing behavior. The neural network is initially
taught to recognize behavior patterns that are fraudulent based on
knowledge gained from more than 80 billion purchases world-wide. It
continues to learn more about the purchasing behavior of customers from
their transactions as it reviews more and more transactions. With every
new transaction-millions per month- the models continue to learn and
update profiles with positive and negative data.
Option 2
Powered by the ClearCommerce FraudAnalyzer model, Option 2 supplies a
statistical model specifically designed to identify potentially
fraudulent online credit card transactions. The statistical model was
based on an historical database that contains millions of online credit
card transactions collected from several thousand Internet merchants.
