Fraud-prevention services and features, such as Address Verification Service (AVS), help verify street numbers before the merchandise is shipped. CVC2 (MasterCard) and CVV2 (Visa) are card verification and validation methods designed to minimize Internet and mail order/telephone order fraud. These methods allow greater security when merchants process transactions where the customer's credit card is not present.
The LinkShield® premium service from LinkPoint Payment Gateway gives merchants fraud-risk ratings that measure the likelihood of fraud for each transaction right at the point of sale, allowing merchants the opportunity to help prevent fraud before it happens.
Additional fraud protection can be added by utilizing Verified by Visa® and MasterCard SecureCode® which help merchants identify that the person using the card in a non-face-to-face transaction is actually the cardholder.Loss Prevention
The FDIS Loss Prevention Department helps merchants reduce the risk of credit card fraud by carefully monitoring merchants' transaction activity.
